From derelict depot to high quality homes
Bringing new life to a derelict site in one of Bristol’s most desirable neighbourhoods, Origin3 delivered a thoughtfully designed collection of executive homes at Parrys Lane.
The site, formerly occupied by the Dairy Crest depot, had stood derelict since 2011 and posed a few challenges, including large outbuildings, proximity to neighbouring dwellings, protected species, and its location within a Conservation Area adjacent to listed buildings. A Public Right of Way running along the site boundary also needed to be retained and enhanced as part of the development.
Origin3 developed a high-quality residential infill scheme that made effective use of this previously underutilised brownfield site, providing much-needed family housing while enhancing the site’s physical, ecological, and historic setting.
The scheme was won at Appeal, Origin3 presented both Planning and Design evidence for the Inspectors consideration and granted the appeal, and deemed the scheme was responding sensitively to the conservation area context and maximised the best use of brownfield land.
