Land at Lyde Green Farm

South Gloucestershire

Local Planning Authority: South Gloucestershire Council
Client: Edward Ware Homes
Status: Outline planning consent
Project type: Strategic Land, Residential
Role: Masterplanning

Shaping place, respecting heritage

Origin3 was tasked with creating a masterplan for a strategically located parcel of land within the Emersons Green East Urban Extension — a site rich with potential but shaped by complex constraints.
Our role was to unlock the potential of this reserved land while responding to two key challenges: the proximity of the M4 motorway and the presence of the Grade II listed Lyde Green Farm. The masterplan not only addressed noise and visual impact from the motorway but also celebrated the farmhouse’s heritage by integrating it sensitively into a sequence of parklands.

A vibrant, well-connected residential environment that respects its context while looking firmly to the future. In 2020, outline planning approval was successfully secured for 400 new homes — a testament to our ability to balance community needs, planning policy, and design excellence.

This project reflects what we do best: delivering creative, pragmatic planning solutions that turn complex sites into thriving places.
